3 Axis Adaptive Roughing
Auto-Rough is a 5 Axis (3+2) operation that automatically searches for and applies Adaptive Roughing toolpaths to rotated 5 Axis Setups. The algorithm searches for Setup plane orientations from which to cut based on parameters set on the Axis Control tab of the Auto-Rough operation dialog.
3+2 Roughing needs to have a stock model defined.
The Adaptive Roughing toolpath method is invoked by selecting the Program tab, clicking on the 3 Axis or 3 Axis Adv button in the Machining Browser and selecting the Adaptive Roughing operation. ![]() 3+2 Roughing Menu Item |
