In some cases you may want to engrave alpha-numeric text onto a part surface. To do this, review the steps listed below:

For VisualCAD/CAM:

1.Close VisualCAD/CAM.

2.Decide on which Windows Font you want to use to define the text. Single-stroke fonts are best for engraving because there are less curves to engrave but you can engrave any font.

3.You can use the following font if desired.

4.Locate the file MecSoft_Font-1.ttf located in the Quick Start folder. Example:
C:\ProgramData\MecSoft Corporation\VisualCAM 2025\QuickStart

5.Copy MecSoft_Font-1.ttf to C:\Windows\Fonts. The font will now be installed on your computer.

6.Open VisualCAD.

7.From the Curve Modeling tab on the top ribbon bar, select Text.

8.From the list of fonts, select MecSoft_Font_1 and select Allow Single line Font.
